The Food Network Star Announced

Sunday night the winner was announced for Food Network’s Competition “Who Will Be the Next Food Network Star”.  I would say that most were not surprised of our winner, Guy Fieri from Santa Rosa, CA.

The 38 year-old restaurateur will be a very busy “Guy” for the next few months.  Starting immediately he will hit the morning show on CBS and begin taping a 6 part series of his new show to air this June.

The finale of our contest was uneventful for the most part.  The other contenders returned for a dinner prepared by Bobby Flay, Guy and Reggie.  We had the opportunity to see a little more of the two finalists in their home towns with their friends and family.  Just before the announcement, family surprised our two chefs while they waited for Emeril Lagasse to announce our new Food Network Star.  I must say that it was nice seeing our Reggie Southerland with his mama and daddy.  He is a sweet guy, but only one could walk away the winner and it was given to the much deserved Guy Fieri.

Guy was incredible during the competition and I am sure that his show will be just as rockin’ as his food and potential celebrity.  My prediction is that Guy has not only won the contest, but because of his unique food style and powerful persona, will become a stand-out Celebrity Chef.
