Now we have Skype and webcams and that "future" is here. It isn't that dramatic. Like you said, we are still humans. Then again, I met some very interesting people that I just love! I love the technology that allows you to work in the environment of your choice and possibly save gas and money on facilities. I think technology will be quite a bit more in the next 10 years.
