I just have to say. Our "female" leaders are really shamefull. We should not have to define ourselves, but we do, we loose. I really don't have trouble with that part, but there have been two major moves that took me years to find a good friend. It was hard, because I am very open and friendly and involved. I don't know anyone else though who knows about them. I mean no one personally. That's cool. I do think it's important to make friends. I have some close parent friends but it's a little tougher when you unschool - unschooling parents are few and far between. Schooling parents and I sometimes don't mesh. Sometimes, but not always.
