The Kimkins Drama

womansworld.jpgYou may remember a post I did around the time I started this blog touting Kimkins as a “miracle diet.” Indeed, you will lose weight fast on Kimkins, named for founder Kimmer, because it cuts out both carbs and fat, leaving you with an essentially all-protein diet. It’s also extremely low-calorie – as low as 300 calories a day.
I did Kimkins myself for a short time and found that it made me physically ill – even to the point of throwing up. All that protein without any fat did not agree with my stomach, and while I lost weight fast, I ended up gaining it back when I reintroduced vegetables and other carbs like certain types of fruit.
Jimmy Moore has a great post today about Woman’s World cover girl Christin, who lost 100 pounds in 5 months on Kimkins. She is now urging people to reconsider the diet after losing hair, her periods, and having a heart scare.
I would personally not recommend Kimkins, because any diet should have adequate amounts of nutrients and contain at least 1200 calories per day to avoid slowing down the metabolism.

Yes, Christin is definitely urging folks to stay away from Kimkins. You can read her blog here:

The Kimkins Diet Scam is a very dangerous, very low calorie, starvation diet. Basically it teaches you how to become anorexic.

    Kimmer
(or Heidi Diaz) lied about losing the weight (she never lost it and is still morbidly obese at over 300 lbs.); and lied about who she was, using pictures from Russian Bride websites for her own “after” pictures and to illustrate the fabricated “success stories” posted on her site.

Please do NOT follow the Kimkins Diet. If you are, please increase your calorie and fat intake immediately, and get in to see your doctor as soon as possible.

Also, if you have been a victim of the Kimkins Diet Scam, please consider joining the class action lawsuit. For information about how to do that, visit their blog:

Remember folks, if it SOUNDS too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true.

Also, the search continues for the identity of this woman who has had her likeness “borrowed” and used for profit without her knowledge. If you know her, please let us know.
