The migraine that’s not quite there, but won’t quite go away either

Have you ever had one of those? A headache or migraine that seems like it’s about to start but doesn’t. But you’re not 100% pain-free either?
For about 2 weeks now. I’ve had a lingering, not quite painful migraine-like headache behind my left eye. That’s where my migraines occur; they feel like there’s a knife twisting in the back of my eyeball. Every so often, I’ll take an ibuprofen or acetaminophen to see if it will help and, oddly enough, about half the time, the "headache" will go away. The rest of the time, it doesn’t.
I did think that it could be a sinus infection, but no other symptoms point to that. So, what does one do for a migraine that’s not quite a migraine? One that’s been going on for 2 weeks now?

Could you maybe have Medication Overuse Headache (aka Rebound Headache)?
Here’s a link to more information about it:

Hi Diana,
Thanks for your suggestion. I don’t think it’s overuse headaches because I’ve taken but a handful of medications. Last week, one day I took two doses of ibuprofen. On the weekend I took one dose of Tylenol.
Right now, as I type this, I don’t have a headache but I feel a twinge of it coming back. Darn.
I don’t have a suggestion, but I’m glad to see this post, because it’s nice to know I’m not alone in this particular pain.
I think my headaches of this nature are hormonal.
I will have these for 2-3 days. I usually attribute it to sinus pressure and changing weather patterns.
