The problem with dating since high school…

…is that you might, one day, 15 years later, be cleaning out your attic and find notes
from when you were having a fight. When you were 17 years old. And, though the argument was over a situation that will not come up again, you remember the feelings of insecurity that brought about the fight in the first place.
And then, your spouse who is cleaning out your attic with you might say, “Hey, no fair getting mad about that one again.” And you’re not, but it’s odd how quickly those thoughts come back. And how well your brain retains those feelings of insecurity that were such a big part of your early relationship and adolescence. When, you know, your spouse had hair.
That’s one of the problems with dating since high school…..hypothetically.
Or maybe it’s just one of the problems of being a packrat.
