A friend of mine sent me an email about this, and even though it’s not the most recent news (the original post is from May 8, 2006) I thought it was too interesting and neat not to also pass along to you Mental Health Notes readers.
Besides, it takes a while for tools like this to become outdated.
According to the British Columbia Schizophrenia Society (BCSS), The Recovery Cup Board Game for Families, which was created by Sophia Kelly, “is an educational game created to help families of persons with psychosis and the person with psychosis.”
The game is designed to help mentally ill people and their family members learn recovery and coping strategies and is suitable for both adults and children with adult supervision.
The BCSS provides everything you need to play The Recovery Cup – online and for free – and grants permission to make copies of the game for non-profit educational purposes, and Here to Help also provides all the game pieces and instructions.
If any of you are already familiar with this game, or end up giving it a go, feel free to share your thoughts about it here!
