Hi Karin,

Thank you..it's great to be here. You are so right. I have often made the mistake of thinking that my colleagues, especially superious, were my friends. And because of that mistake, I've gotten hurt.

Now that I work from home, it's just me and my dog...lol

Hi Kim, I'm looking forward to reading your points of view. :)

Regarding office relationships, I've always thought it was a dangerous idea. Focusing on both your relationship and work in the same place, sounds impossible. Besides, most people have trouble being objective professionally towards those they have feelings for (in that regard, friendships in the workplace can also be a very bad idea if you can't stay objective with your friends).

Personally, I am pretty good with leaving my feelings at the office door so to speak and not letting them taint my opinion of someone's work. But office flings, or crushes, still turned out to be horrible distractions. Even if you are able to differentiate, the objects of your affection might not and it can get really hard preventing them from raising personal issues or discussions at work.

Bottomline... too many things you can't control, that can make you lose focus of your professional goals.

Office romances, huh? It reminds me of what we were talking about over at Dating Dames regarding this matter. Hahaha.

Personal opinion, I'm against it -- way too complicated. Though, I've been guilty of going against my principle at one point but it was only that I really, REALLY like him! Hahaha. ;)
