At first glance, you would never know that the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve actually would soon become the site of a new school. Yes, such a thing is going on but you would not really realize that the materials that are currently used are partly recycled materials.
The new school, when completed, would be named the Arabia Mountain High School. They would not need electricity for it would be the sun who would be taking care of that. And as part of giving back to nature, the students and the whole faculty and administration would be working on a recycling program.
Linsay Baker is the manager of the school certification program of the US Green Building Council and she shares her excitement over the developments in schools that do their share at being green, “In the past 6 months, it’s been overwhelming. There is a general agreement in schools that this is the issue that schools need to be thinking about.”
