The Schoolbus Issue

“Your driveway is not convenient for me. I have trouble with my eyes.”
A former busdriver of Charlie’s said this to me a few years ago. She was older (a senior citizen, I think) and had poor English, as she was an immigrant from Russia.
But a busdriver who has vision problems?
Fortunately Charlie’s bus ride then was just to the other side of our town. But what are we not thinking, that the passengers who are the most vulnerable, are in vehicles operated by kindly but (may I dare say) often unfit drivers?
Many of the bus drivers and bus aides that Charlie has had do not speak English well—Charlie himself does not talk much or very clearly.
What happens if there is an accident?
