There are close to thirty castings of Auguste Rodin’s famous statue of a man in deep contemplation, The Thinker, at museums worldwide. One copy is located in San Francisco, at the Legion of Honor in Golden Gate Park, overlooking the famous Golden Gate Bridge.

Rodin originally named the sculpture The Poet, which was commissioned for a Paris museum. It was first put on display in 1904, and now is in the garden of the Musée Rodin in Paris, France.
