The Top 5 Things My Brains Wants For Christmas

For the Science & Health Channel’s theme day last week, Laura from CFS Squared had the cutest idea. She wrote a letter to the North Pole - that’s right, to Mr. Claus himself - asking for the five things she wants for Christmas.
After reading it, I thought, Hey, I’ve been pretty good this year. Maybe I should write to Santa. I mean, 15 or so of the 25 Things I Learned At 25 I learned this year. And in order to learn something, you have to go through something. You have to do something. Right?
Right.
So, I’m not going to completely rip Laura off and write a letter to Santa, but I am going to list the top five things my brain wants for Christmas, and hope Ol’ Saint Nick sees.
After all, I deserve them. We all do.
- A whole bunch of money to donate to a mental health-related cause. Preferably an addiction treatment center in my area that will do more than just give people a place to detox, will be equipped to take on more than a handful of people without being over-crowded, and will provide the counseling and mental health services people with addictions need.
- A silver ribbon product to help me advocate and advertise.
- A personal, acoustic performance by Dave Matthews Band of any and all songs I choose. You know, for stress-relieving purposes.
- The power to make people stop purchasing items made of animal skin and fur.
- A feeling, however momentary, that regardless of how crazy things get, everything is going to be OK. Oh, and Santa, if you’re reading this, you can pass this one on to God.
Note that I chose these things because they’re what my brain wants for Christmas. They’re the things that would relieve stress and make me peaceful. In a day or so - you know, when shopping enters crunch time! - I’ll give you all some gift ideas for your own mental health consumers and advocates.
Now, what does your brain want for Christmas?

Alicia,
great list! can I be invited to the Dave Matthews personal concert…I love him. The man can dance…I smile just thinking about him!
I think my favorite part was the “Oh, and Santa, if you’re reading this, you can pass this one on to God.” I’ve had some moments like that lately.
I’m going to copy you … straight up copy your idea and put it in both of my blogs.
I’ll definitely link back to you so hopefully Santa will bring you some extra clicks this month!
