Mysteries are my favorite reading, whether they’re for children or for adults. I also enjoy mysteries that take place in actual settings, so I can learn more about other parts of the country and the world.
Do your youngsters like to read mysteries? Here are a few mystery books to check out for the youngsters (tots through teens) in your life:
- The Boxcar Children Mysteries
- Boxcar Children Graphic Novel Mysteries
- Joan Lowery Nixon (author) mysteries
- American Girl Mystery series
- Ghost Cadet
- Mysteries by Carole Marsh (Historical & geographical settings)
- Mysteries by Beverly Lewis
- The Undercover Kid Mysteries
- Hardy Boys Mysteries
- Mystery Kids Mysteries
- The Adirondack Kids Mysteries
- Mysteries by Mary Downing Hahn
- Spine Chiller mysteries
Do you have favorite kids’ mysteries or authors?

I see the Hardy Boys, but no Nancy Drew on the list. She was my favorite, as a kid (I’m 42 now).
Sorry, Michelle, for leaving off Nancy Drew. That was one of my favorite series, too, when I was growing up. I tried to have a mix of current and past mysteries in this list and ran out of numbers. Perhaps I should have listed Nancy Drew as a bonus!
For me it was Trixie Belden, I read them all and wished I had blonde hair like Honey too!
