I follow almost all the blogs. They are great. So much love , info and care going on. Sometimes they make you cry and sometimes they make you laugh. But they are always a good read.

I have been taking care of my boyfriends mom for a little over a year. It has been such a learning experience. She also has many siblings and a couple of them were diagnosed with Alzheimer's too. I haven't been able to do much research because of getting things settled for her and my Dad who has COPD, so I am wondering is this common to run in the family? I wonder if my boyfriend should be worried?

Thank you for sharing these other sites. I took care of my Mom for 10 years before she passed. My Mom had 3 other siblings. Three of the four were diagnosed with Alzheimer's as was there mother and at least one aunt. I am trying to keep up with all the new resources and research on Alzheimer's that is now available.

It has been two years since she passed. It has taken me along time as I dealt with the grief and intensity of her journey. Recently I learned about blogging. What an amazing tool! I wish I had known of it when I was caring for Mom. The community aspect of it would have been such a blessing, so many times I felt so isolated and alone.

Thanks again for sharing.

Mary Emma,

Writing about our experience helps us, and hopefully helps others as well. I didn't get into blogging until I became a caregiver to my father, and the blog you sited was started to share my thoughts and feelings. Thanks for putting the list together - I will check out the other sites. And thanks for including Elder Care Cafe.
