THURSDAY THIRTEEN

When you decide to expand your quilting or fabric arts hobby into a business, whether it’s simply making and selling a few items a year or earning a major income from it, you’ll need a name.

What can you use that’s catchy, yet descriptive?

Sometimes you may incorporate your own name or initials.  Others may be something whimsical.  Or descriptive.  Or strictly business.

(Depending on regulations in your state, you may need to check to see whether that name’s in use and whether you have to register it.)

Here are simply 13 suggestions.  As far as I know, none are in use.  But perhaps someone already has been more creative than I.

  1. Mea’s Quilts (this is the name I’ve used for years, combining my initials)
  2. Fabric Fantasia
  3. Quilts & Cloth Creations
  4. Quilted Treasures
  5. The Fabric Treasure Chest (possibly for a fabric shop)
  6. Em’s Eclectic Emporium
  7. The Traveling Trunk & Treasures (if you travel and give talks about your work)
  8. Fabric Arts and Artisans (a quilting gallery or co-op)
  9. Fantastic Feats of Fabric
  10. Fabric & Fiber Illusions
  11. Patchwork Plus
  12. The Patchwork Pathway
  13. Calico Quilts & Crazy Creations

What name have you already chosen for your business or hobby.  You can give a name to art work even if you aren’t developing it into a business.
