Tidy Tuesday – Make a Five Minute Repair

I did all the normal cleaning tasks today and had about five minutes left over. I decided to do a quick repair that has been bugging me. You know what I mean – that screw missing from an outlet cover or the hole that needs patching from when you took the hook out of the ceiling. Just a little, easy thing, but you never seem to find the time to fix it. I decided to try to make a dent in the list of tiny tasks and was surprised at how many of them I got done in those few short minutes. I put a loose outlet cover back on, screwed a footstool that came apart back together, patched some wall damage from when the electricians updated the wiring and got a few more random tasks done.
The key to getting all this accomplished? A small repair list. I went through the house a bit ago and wrote every single little thing that needed to be done and put it where I’d see it the next time I had some time to spare. This way, I don’t spend half my free time trying to remember what it was I said I was going to do when I had a few minutes to do something.

Great idea Katelyn but …
I made a list, hubs said he would deal with everything and gradually crossed things off – when he thought he’d do them not when he’d done them.
I restarted the list so *I* could get cracking, started and got told “leave that, I’ll see to it”. MEN!
Actually only complaining about one man but I’m sure there are others like him.
Hazel,
I wish crossing things off meant they were fixed. Think how much we’d accomplish!
