Tip of the Day #16

A Tick Tock Tuesday post (a day late, ironic huh?)
There is a little trick called layering activities which can save you so much time. Layering activities is simply accomplishing 2 things at once.
For example, one of your goals is to read one book a month, but you seem to be having some trouble accomplishing that goal. Instead you’re lucky if you read one book a year. (No, magazines don’t count! If they did I’d be considered an avid reader. lol!
)
Let’s say you have a long commute to work. What are you doing in the car the whole time? Maybe you could get books on cd and listen to a book in the car. You see, you are accomplishing 2 things at once.
Or maybe your long days at work are cutting into time with your kids. If you cook dinner on a regualr basis, have them come help. I’ve had some good conversations and some of the best memories being in the kitchen with my kiddos. Although, this is a tip I need to use myself more often.
You would be amazed at how many things you can think of that you can do at the same time. If you come up with some ideas, please share!

My Hubby and I are avid readers, but we don’t always have time to actually sit down and read a book. We discovered that you can download some books on itunes and have listened to many books in the car or just before bed that way. It’s nice because we can read the same book together since it’s on tape!
Becca - That’s a great idea! I’ve never thought of that. Thanks for the tip.
I actually picked up a REAL book today. Yea me!
