Are your children’s art creations taking over your refrigerator? There are several ways you can display their most prize works of art without letting it take over your kitchen:
1. Put up a bulletin board in the kitchen and pin them on there. I have one in mine and I don’t know how I lived without it before.
2. Put up a bulletin board in their bedroom or playroom and display them there. When it’s time to hang a new picture, have them choose one to take down.
3. Attach a piece of small rope across the wall and hang their pictures on with little clips or clothespins.
Kids’ art work is important to them and it should be displayed, but you can do so in an organized manner and still make them feel great!

I like the clothesline idea…I need to do that here in hte office…I should just wrap it around the perimeter of the room…on several levels…
I like the rope idea too. I saw that once in a book but just haven’t gotten around to doing it yet. Something else we do is we have one wall in the house (usually a hallway) designated as Cedar’s art wall. He likes that because it’s like his own gallery and then we can all see his art but it doesn’t take over the house.
@Marye – Sounds like a plan. I have a feeling your kids are very artsy and would fill that line up in no time.
@Jennifer – That’s a great idea. I have one little wall in our living room that has two framed pieces of my older kids art. It cost me an arm and a leg at this art show from their school though.
My kids? Artsy?
Sigh. I am putting a paypal donation button on my personal homeschooling blog to help pay for art supplies.
I LOVE the rope idea. Very simple and inexpensive, but a cool way to display their “faves”. My oldest (age 6) is quite the artiste and my fridge, the top of a bookshelf and my work desk are all landing points for his creations. Time for a fix, and this is it!
My boys place their artwork on the walls heading down to our basement. The basement is their domain. They can cover the walls like crazy. Before school starts the next year, they select a few items to save.
Marye:That may not be a bad idea. I feel like I buy paper every week!
Liberty:I hope this works for you!
Angie:What a fun idea!
