Jon: I love that tip! My daughter is starting to browse through my closet. Very weird. I've already been able to give her several of my shirts. I may have to put a lock on my closet door. :)

Tracee:I love getting hand-me-downs from friends. I do have one friend I do this with. She gets my girl's clothes. I've also been saving my 8 year olds clothes for his little brother.

I like the idea of saving the clothes for those in need after a house fire or a foster family. I'd much prefer to do that. I would love to know who the clothes are helping. Thanks for the tip!

Another thing we do is place our favorites in a "keeper" box which we will give to our kids when they become adults. My was given the coolest bright orange Patagonia vest when he was 3. We know he will get a kick out of that when he has children (fate willing). We also keep a paper bag for things that will fit our younger niece and nephews.

I do this. I have a garbage bag by the door. I don't usually do the donation. I will save them up for a friend's garage sale or I will save them for when I hear of someone whose house might have burned down or a foster kid or someone in need and give them then.
