Do you have a favorite hobby? Do you find yourself having to round up all the materials when it’s time to work on it?
For your hobby items, store them where you use them. Like a basket next to the recliner with all your knitting supplies, for instance. Or all your scrapbooking supplies in a hutch next to the kitchen table.
You want to spend your free time enjoying your hobby, not looking for it. 
This is exactly how I organize my hobbies. The problem then becomes – finding the time, not the materials!
