It&#039;s pretty straight forward and sensible. If couples start the &quot;fight&quot; with answering that question, there&#039;s a higher chance of reaching an end to the dispute with less pain and effort that usually accompany arguments.

From my work as a therapist, I think the most important question to answer as soon as you realize you&#039;re having an argument is -

1. Are we going to come up with a solution we can both live with, or

2. Are we going to just spend all our energy trying to convince each other to &quot;Do It My Way&quot;?

If you&#039;re with someone who keeps choosing option 2, it&#039;s worth questioning if this is a relationship where you&#039;re going to be happy.</description>
