Top Chef: 14 Days of Finale

Go to the Top Chef Top Chefwebsite and take a look at a segment they are calling 14 Days of Finale.  There are bonus videos with interviews and how-to demonstrations from the contestants and the judges.  The interviews ask questions such as “What was the most difficult challenge?” or “What was the most surprising moment?”

So, what was the most difficult challenge?  As suspected, most people stated the challenge which that got them kicked-off the show, but those who were around longer, for the obviously more difficult challenges, stated that the restaurant and the infamous wedding were definitely the most difficult.  The judges attempt to explain away the wedding challenge since the message boards are abuzz with the fact that the wedding challenge was unfair…yes, Tom and Gail, the challenge was unfair.  At least Tom somewhat cops to it.  Gail continues to be insistent that it was about the menu.  A menu that was planned before they were told that they only had 16 hours and a grocery store to shop.  Lee Anne states it best…she is still PO-ed about it, and she has every reason to be.

As for the most surprising moment?  Of course, most spoke about again, when they were kicked-off the show, but my two favorite answers had to be from Cynthia Sestito and Harold Dieterle.  Harold is surprised every time Kenneth Lee opens his mouth…I would say we are all in agreement there.  Yikes!  Did I ever mention how S-C-A-R-Y that guy is!!  But Cynthia sums it up the best…she was surprised not by a moment but by the fact that the show Top Chef has nothing to do with the food or even the competition itself.  Ah, Welcome to “Reality” Television!

Stay tuned this Wednesday, May 17 at 10pm for the Top Chef Grand Finale.

I would like to see 2 more shows with nothing but insights and extended interviews and video about the show itself. There’s a lot of interesting stuff that ended up in the digital bit bucket apparently
