Top Chef Seasonf 1 Rules

Ok, yes, I sound juvenile.  But, you know what….I don’t care.  Season 1 Rules!!

I know how stressed both teams must have been when they discovered it was Season 3 contestants tasting their food and offering their opinions.  You knew that they were probably going to be way more critical than most.  I think it should have been a blind taste test, because it appeared that some of them just did or did not like certain people.  Something tells me that we will be having a few taste testers from Season 1 & 2 return in Season 3 for some payback.  One can at least hope.

It was great seeing Lee Anne Wong.  She is now working for Bravo on the Top Chef crew, besides writing a blog on the show and showing you how to cook the winning recipes for each season.  She looks GREAT!  I was thrilled to see her, not only because she was one of my favorites, but also because she was one of the best.  It’s nice to see how well she is doing.

I love being right.  I knew that Season 2 could not play nice.  It was like the Season 3 tasters said, “It is obvious that they all hate each other.”  You could tell just by the food.  What professional chef would not think about how all the food each prepared would taste together. Each dish needed to complement each other.  Again, rivalries prevailed over good food.

Season 1 is talented, but I have to admit I like their personalities better.  I have missed Dave and his twitching.  I know that he gets upset that people hover over him while he cooks, but come on, he looks completely stressed out.  Stephen was wonderful to have back, because as pretentious has he may seem, he always makes fabulous and beautiful food, and he also is truly loyal.  Harold was humble and even-keeled and then Tiffani is aggressive.  For each one of them, it is about the food and the pride the have in preparing the best.  They know how to balance each other out, work together and win.  Not only did Season 1 win the ”smackdown”  and earn bragging rights, but they also won for charity.  The four won $20,000 to the charity of their choice.  They chose the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

If you missed the show click here to see some video highlights.  Also, check your listings because I am sure that Bravo will re-air the episode before the Season premier of Top Chef next Wednesday at 10pm EST.
