A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

Egads. Not sure that I think this is appropriate. For one, it doesn’t feel like a kids’ book to me (and I love the story). My children have gone to see the live version of the story as presented each Christmas in Philadelphia and it frightens them. The themes of death, cruelty and ghosts are a bit much for children.
But if you accept for a moment that it is appropriate for children, this is awfully low on the list. I mean, how much more Christmas-y can you get? This is the Christmas classic.
What do you think?
