With Lance Armstrong back for the Tour de France 2009, there’s lot of interest in traveling to see the most exciting event in the world of cycling.

If you’d like to be in the center of the action, perhaps watching Lance wearing that yellow jersey, tour operator Great Explorations has developed tour options that cover 4-5 stages of the race, including the big finish in Paris.  You can book for the big celebratory festivities in Paris, with a balcony view of the Champs 71104c1_1_armstrong_l_b_gr_ Lance Armstrong Tour de France 2009 d’Elysees and the course as you keep an eye out for the racers.

These are not just spectator tours.  You’ll  can cycle along at your own skill level, having the opportunity to cycling on the same routes as the pros, albeit ahead of them.  Groups are small (no more than 16), providing flexibility for your skill level, along with lots of individual attention.  Tours start in the Alps and you can choose to end in Provence or Paris.

If this is the summer for your trip of a lifetime, this Tour de France package could be just what you’re looking for.  Dates range from July 20 – 26th, based on the options you choose.  Prices start around $3250/person and include all hotels, entrance fees, baggage transport, daily dinner and breakfast, and most lunches, and a few other options.

Take a look at the full itinerary, and get pricing and booking information, to see if the Tour de France package is in your summer plans.
