While I try to make it a practice to stay away from places with bugs, there are times when I still need to have a little protection against the creepy crawly and flying pests.
This Insect Shield Halo Long-Sleeve Shirt from Ex Officio is a stylish and useful option, allowing you to look good and still get the protection you need.
Made of lightweight nylon, this shirt is great for hiking, camping, or a day walking around the city.
The insect shield protects against ants, ticks and other pests (of the insect variety), and the UPF 30+ gives you sun protection. The sleeves have tabs to hold up the sleeves when you don’t need full protection, and there is a security pocket to keep valuables safe. The nylon fabric has moisture wicking for quick drying and wrinkle resistance, so it packs and wears easily.
Machine wash in cold water, but don’t use bleach or fabric softeners. The protection will last 70 washings, so you will want to wear and launder with that in mind.
Available is sizes XS – XL, and in a variety of colors (light palm in the photo). $88.
