Treating the Person with Chronic Fatigue

.Aveda Rituals : A Daily Guide to Natural Health and Beauty

Ok I admit it, the title of this post is more than slightly misleading. The “treat” that I am referring to is not about a cure or managing this illness…..but keep reading anyway.

One of my favorite things in my life is my monthly trip to my day spa. I LOVE my time there. Its all about relaxing, and reading trashy magazines, and chatting with the girls, and feeling pretty.

My spa is very much into the healing properties of aromatherapy. Many of you will not be able to stand this (for a long long time, i couldnt stand it either). I am sure you could request for your service to be done scent free. Day spas are very accomodating.

There is something about my spa, that makes me feel amazing, like I can go out an conquer the world…even after a crazy long day, or when I am feeling sub par. I am not sure what it is exactly, if there is some kind of magic in the exfoliant, or some kind of energy replenishment in the massage. Or maybe its just the fact that after a pedicure, I have really pretty looking feet….and thats just enough to lift my spirits sky high.

I am sure that if any of my friends come by this blog, they will give testimony to the fact that I am a much much happier girl after 90 minutes at my spa. I certainly talk about it enough!!!!

Feeling good about yourself is very much needed during times of illness. Mostly because it rarely happens. So when you feel well enough to leave your house, try and see if you can spend a half an hour with an esthetician. Explain your situation about being fatigued, and chemical sensitivities….most places these days are very understanding, and will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Mine certainly does….

You will feel like a million bucks!

Of course this probably goes wthout saying, make sure you go to a reputable spa….one that is very clean. There are lots of really good day spas for every budget. I go to an aveda spa, and I love it.
