Try Painting an Old Tie

Above is a tie my mother painted for me when I was a teenager.
As you can tell, the tie was once grey. My mother used acrylic paints to paint the scene on the front–and it has stayed for many years. I understand that not everyone feels comfortable enough with their scenery painting skills to attempt exactly the tie pictured above, but I do think that anyone can paint a tie.
I think it would be awesome if someone made a “Smiley Face” tie from an old black tie, with yellow acrylic paint and black lines on the face. (What can I say? Simple shapes and lines are more my speed than difficult mountains, bushes, and streams.)
