Karen, thank you so much for taking the time to write out your thoughts. I appreciate reading how you think about the blog and your reasoning.

You've given me food for thought and that is exactly what I wanted!

In my opinion, I don’t think focusing on one particular type of pain would make this blog more of a community. The reason being, even though all of us have some similar pains throughout life (headaches, muscle aches, etc) we are all diverse and unique and we all have not only different kinds of pains (chronic, arthritis, osteoporosis, etc) but we have different levels of those pains.

I like coming to this blog because the pains I experience have been spoken about and great links have been provided. Even if I don’t have the particular pain you’ve talked about, I can relate to others that may currently be experiencing that pain. Or keep myself educated just in case I may get that pain. But I don’t think I want to read about the same pain over and over. I want to hear all about the different pains, and how to manage or treat them, so focusing on one particular pain may deter me from visiting as often as I do.

Dedicating particular pains each day of the week might be good, but again, if I know that for example Monday’s are “Migraine Monday” and I don’t experience migraines, I may not visit on Mondays. Yes I could read about migraine pain to relate with others that experience them, but in my circle of friends no one I know gets migraines, so I may not visit the site on Mondays.

For me what works is how you “wander all over the place”. Why? Because I don’t know what “today’s” blog may be about so I visit the site to check it out. It’s like an unexpected surprise just waiting to be opened. There’s some sort of excitement wondering what the topic of that days blog is. And if I find it is a pain that I don’t relate to, chances are I will read it anyway because I’m already at the site and who knows, I could learn something at the same time.

Again, this is just my opinion.

Whatever method you choose, I say: keep up the good work!
