Turkey Treats for Dogs

Though we’re not the kind of dog owners that treat our dogs as little people (ie dressing them up or taking them places, etc), we do have fun trying to include them in our “in house” activities if we’re able to, like getting them a new chew toy or doll for the holidays, or making them a special treat on our “treat” holidays (Easter, Valentine’s, etc).

This includes a fun treat made from cooked, leftover turkey that’s perfect for the Thanksgiving weekend. Because we don’t have leftover turkey until after the holiday is over (and don’t want to spend anymore time in the kitchen that day!), these are made the day following our own turkey holiday.
Turkey Treats
2 cups cooked turkey, cut up
4 teaspoons grated cheese
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
2 egg
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons brewer’s yeast
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
~ Combine turkey, cheese, parsley and mix well.
~ Beat the eggs in a bowl and pour over turkey mixture.
~ Add the flour, yeast, and oil. Stir until thoroughly mixed and all ingredients are coated.
~ Drop into small lumps onto ungreased cookie sheet.
~ Cook in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes, until brown and firm. Store in refrigerator.
