TV Free Week Status Report

February 26, 2008 by char

Our family is going TV free this week and 48 hours into our exercise, I can honestly say, this is just too easy! Now it helps that the biggest TV watcher in the family (Daddy) is out of town this week, but the kids have not argued, begged or really even seemed to have missed the TV at all yet.

And the clincher – my two girls who normally spend morning until night FIGHTING with each other, just announced they were going upstairs to play American Girl dolls and I can hear their lovely little voices up there being nice, creative and they are playing with toys I actually thought they had lost interest in.

I’ll keep you posted! It’s not too late to join in.

WOW!!! That is really great!!! :) I am so glad for you! We aren’t big TV watchers here….going totally without is wonderful though! :)

This is the very best way to increase reading ability.

Everytime I’m ready to throw away my TV something REALLY great comes on – usually on National Geographic. The HBO John Adams series is really educational, frankly. That said, 98% is garbage and I will participate in TV Free Week this year. I told my kids and one said “they’re giving away free TVs?” I have some work to do. You have a great site. Thanks!
