Sleepover parties can be a nightmare for parents! I like the alternative ideas you offered. However, with a small group and some planned activities, sleepovers can be bearable! Check out the article, http://www.tweenparent.com/articles/view/121 for some very do-able ideas!

Ok look,
I’m a teen myself (almost 13) and trust me, thoses are HORRIBLE ideas!! If my mother takes your advice I WILL NOT be happy. SO any parents of teens out there and actually think that would be good, then think again. Us kids just want to have like a dance for 3 hours with lights, snacks, and music! GOOD music!! There is a tip for ya, don’t follow this or your going to have trouble with you kid!!

My son’s 10th birthday is this weekend. He is having 4 or 5 friends stay the night and 4 neighbor girls over for an hour and a half and then we will take the boys to a gaming parlor ($3 per child for a total of $15) for an hour. We will have pizza and cupcakes and then make sundaes later in the night. Guitar Hero, slap jack, Twister, and a movie will keep them busy. I’m going to look for fabric markers and pillow cases tomorrow and so each of them can decorate a pillow case to take home as a party favor (wish me luck!). Chocolate chip pancakes are on the menu for breakfast.

Great Ideas, thank you all.
My daughter turns 11 on Thur (Nov 13th) she just decided Sunday she would like to have a few friends over for cake/ice cream & to play some video games on the Wii. Funds are short right now, so I thought this would be a good idea. Maybe get a couple Little Ceasar pizza’s too.
