Under Pressure

Over the next week we’re going to be moving. Six years ago when we first moved into this house our three daughters were really just babies (3 and 2 years old) and we had plenty of room.

Of course, as they’ve grown the house has become smaller and smaller and we realized this spring that the “3-5 years” we gave ourselves here were long past and we were bursting at the seams. So we semi-grudgingly put it up for sale and within a couple of months it sold. We found our own new house with double the square footage and while we’re all really excited about it we’re also sad to be moving on from this one.

I’m a very sentimental person by nature, and while I know it’s the memories that are important I still can’t help but think of all the good times we’ve had here, the milestones the girls hit, new family members (of the furry variety!) we added, and our great little neighborhood.

I know we’ll be making all new memories at the new house (once the pain of moving is done) but it’s still hard to let go of this one. It’s also the longest I’ve lived in one spot in over 21 years, so it’s going to be an adjustment in that area too!

Now I’m off to dig up more boxes and clear out some more cupboards!
