unfinished projects

I usually have about 10 different projects on the go.  I don’t know exactly why I need to have that many projects going at once, heaven knows I have enough trouble keeping everything sorted for one project!

My fiance came into my studio this evening and plaintively asked “is my shirt done yet?”.

The shirt I promised to make him for Christmas.

Oops.

It’s half sewn together, out of quite a lovely lightweight burgundy wool flannel.  Of course, now I’m thinking – it’s getting awfully warm for flannel – I wonder if I should just leave that shirt and make a new one out of broadcloth.   Afterall, I have the broadcloth already.  And instead of trying to draft a shirt pattern based on one he saw, I could just use this one:

It’s Folkwear pattern #212,  “Five Frontier Shirts“.  I think the top left shirt is close enough that I can make it work..

And this is how I end up with 11 projects on the go.
