In Taiwan, the LED Lighting tradeshow became the avenue for Unity Opto Technology to show off one of their newest creations. This new one comes as LED street lamps that get its power from the sun.
At the tradeshow, Unity Opto brought with them a prototype of their creation. And they proudly displayed such and even compared it to the usual lamp.
A solar panel is used by this street light. From the solar panel, the converted energy is sent to the light source which is composed of a dozen LED units. According to the company, their LED light source would last an average of 50,000 hours which is quite a long period. As per the solar panels which get and convert the power of the sun could last for around 15 good years.
Unity Opto also boasted that this solar-powered street lamp of theirs can still shine brightly even if there is no sun shining. This is because of the solar panel which stores the power until it is needed.
