Unravel the Old to Bring in the New

I found a forum post with an interesting line that I wanted to quote.  It said

…my first baby cardigan was made from an old sweater that I undid to get the yarn. Yarn was on clothing coupons at that time here in the UK so we had to undo old garments to re-knit them again. (Posted on Knitting Forums on the “A New Oldie” thread.)

I had never thought of unravelling an old sweater to salvage the yarn.  Isn’t that a fantastic idea?

If only I liked sweaters…
