Uses for Tiny Tins

tiny-tin.jpgI now have an empty Burt’s Bees cuticle cream tin. I admire it because the closure works so well. It’s not the kind of tin to slip open.

I’ve been trying to think of ways to reuse this tin. It’s only 1.5 inches wide. It would make a great pill case, except I already have one. I could also use it as a small jewelry case for travel, but I have one of those too.

Here are a few other uses:

• Decorate the tin and line with felt, then use as a gift box for cuff links or other small accessory.

• If your pet is spending just a night or two at a kennel, use it to pack a few treats (instead of sending the whole box of treats).

• Decoupage a travel image on the top and use the tin to store smashed souvenir pennies. Come on, you know you buy those.

• Make a tiny survival kit

Can you think of some other uses for tiny tins?

  1. I have the hardest time learning peoples names because in general people don’t interest me, so I don’t bother to try. I do however often pick up on their traits quite easily because why they behave the way they do does interest me.

I worked for a number of years for a guy who liked to do things green. (I’m not talking environmentally friendly though, he litterally liked to do something green…) It was a funny trait of his to immediately comment whenever someone presented any kind of trinket that had a compartment inside. I will always remember the comment. “That would be great to hide my … in it.”

From your seeming desire to find a use for this tin it reminds me more than just a little of this guy. Me thinks Mayhaps you be of a similar history? (No need to respond, I just thought you should know this is a very stoner-esque behavior.)

Math, LOL! I never thought of it that way. Thanks for alerting me.

    No, I don’t share the history. : )
