Using Fabric for Gift Wrap

November 29, 2005 by Mary Emma Allen

You can find attractive gift wrap in your quilting supply store or fabric stash. I recently saw on a web site among the description of various gift wraps…”fabric that can be washed, ironed, and reused.”

Why not choose patchwork print fabric to wrap around gifts this year? This need not be the most expensive in your collection, but some that will add color and cheer to the gifts.

Also, if you dye or paint fabrics as my daughter does, you could decorate your own fabric to use as a gift wrapping.

When you use fabric for a gift wrap, whether it’s around a box, a jar, an odd-shaped gift, you’re giving an additional gift, especially to the quilter or fabric lover in your family or among your friends. Then tie the gift with ribbons and bows. Add a bell or tiny Christmas balls.
