Calling all parents!
Are you in charge of bringing the treats for your child’s Valentine’s Day class party? How about serving some little Cuties mandarin oranges? I’ve yet to meet a kid who didn’t love a sweet, seedless, easy-to-peel Cutie.
In an effort to help you out, I’m hosting another Cuties Mandarin Orange Giveaway! Woot! Here’s your chance to win one of 5 – 5lb boxes of Cuties.
A serving of mandarins have 80 calories, 4 grams of fiber, and 300% of the daily requirement of Vitamin C. Right now Cuties are available with collectible Valentine’s Day themed stickers attached.
Cuties set up a fun section for kids to learn about Cuties and good nutrition. Take a look here. My daughter, Sarah, who was home sick today, had fun playing the game, searching for hidden Cuties all over the place.
If you are a resident of the US and you’d like to enter the Cuties Giveaway, please leave a comment sharing an elementary school Valentine memory.
I’ll announce the winners on Friday. Good luck!

I just loved tearing open our brown paper bags with our names on to see how many valentines I would get from my classmates and always hoped to get something from a secret admirer
I loved making the valentine box and making a special valentine for everyone.
I would love to win some cuties for my cuties!
happy valentine’s day!
My favorite memory from Valentine’s Day in grade school was making the large envelopes for people to submit Valentine’s. I loved making Valentine’s, and honestly, I still do for my close friends!
I love your blog!
We were told to make Valentine “mail boxes” out of shoe boxes in second grade. My dad helped me cover mine with aluminum foil and then we glued hearts on the box. I know he was tired after a long day at work, but he sat there patiently helping me decorate this box. I was so proud carrying that shiny silver box to school the next day for our Valentine’s Day party. I kept that box on my dresser for years and years and kept my favorite Valentine’s Day cards & birthday cards in it. My dad is gone now, but I always remember him a lot at this time of year.
I’m really enjoying reading about your Valentine’s day memories! Thanks for commenting everybody!
Aww, I have horrible elementary school memories of Valentine’s Day! In 6th grade my ‘boyfriend’ dumped me, and in 1st grade a boy told me he loved me on a valentine and then proceeded to tell everyone in our ’share group’. I cried!!
i remember one year i made everyone in the class a handmade valentine.. the only problem was i forgot to bring them to class on valentines day… i was pretty bummed out as i thought giving valentines AFTER valentines day was kind of pointless. but i did bring them the next day to which a kid exclaimed “more valentines, yay!”, that made me feel a little better!
I remember making our Valentine boxes in class out of things like foil and construction paper hearts. It was so much fun! Thanks for the chance to win!
I loved those little cheapie valentines they used to sell. Well my mom always made us give everyone in the class a valentine whether we wanted to or not but as I look back, that was nice because everyone got something. She would also help us attach a lollipop to all the cards so everyone had a treat.
I recall in class going desk to desk and putting Valentine’s in each bag!

We made our Valentine’s holders out of milk jugs. I remember that lots of the other kids’ jugs were full but mine wasn’t. Then a girl who later became my best friend for that grade put a big Scooby Doo valentine in my jug (he happens to still be the coolest) and it didn’t look as pathetic. I had that Valentine for a few years.
We made our Valentine holders out of shoe boxes and got to color them all up and make them really personal. At the end the teacher placed them along the wall with our names on it. I remember getting so excited to see the cards and candies inside each. I think my favorite was the party they had at class though. It always felt magical.

I just found this great Valentine’s Day cookbook packed full of cherry recipes and best of all it is free. I downloaded it yesterday and I am already planning a great dinner with my boyfriend. I remember the school selling carnations for Valentine’s Day..red for love, white for friendship, and pink for who-the-heck-can-remember-that-far-back. I knew my girlfriends and I would exchange white ones but you always hoped you’d get a special red one from someone. No, I never got a red one.
I am as nutso today for the 99-cent box of Valentines as I was as a kid. I’d fret and stew when I was in grade school, trying to get the right Valentine to the right school pal. We never played favorites–everybody exchanged Valentines. Then when I got home, I’d arrange and play with the Valentines I received. What fun!
I remember a valentine my best friend made for me…fuzzy red material w/wiggly eyes.
I don’t have a specific memory. I just remember getting Valentine’s cards and putting them into a paper bag or a box.
I loved making valentines with doilies and glitter! Thanks for the generous giveaway!
