Valentine’s Day May Be Good For Your Heart

In lieu of February being the American Heart Month, I would like to contribute this post (not cancer related!) in the b5media Science and Health Channel Theme Day.

The month of February has Valentine’s Day too right (that’s today!) and the American Heart Month reminds the American public that cardiovascular diseases (including stroke) are the nation’s No. 1 killer.

Makes you wonder how so. But it just makes sense, since the modern world and living on the fast lane bit is truly bad for the heart. We tend to eat the wrong foods, have bad eating habits and have sedentary lifestyles — not only in our homes but our offices too. We tend to be always on a hurry, even when eating.

Most of us eat on the go. Even eating in front of your computer (like I often do!) is I guess will eventually be bad for the heart.

But then, there’s Valentine’s Day (or any other special day of the year, for that matter) to make each of our hearts smile. Imagine if we can make our hearts smile on a daily basis, they we may be able to kick the stress (even depression) that is not good for our heart health all that.

On that note, I think Valentine’s Day is beneficial to our heart health, as long as you don’t stress yourself preparing your Valentine’s day date way ahead.

I might actually be true. I found an article from the What Doctors Don’t Tell You (WDDTY) e-news broadcast entitled “Be My Valentine: How love can protect you against heart disease”.

I love this part best:

Feeling loved can be one of the best protections against coronary heart disease. It even works if you have a health problem, or if you’re depressed.

See? So feel the love always (even if not Valentine’s Day) and do your heart good through the whole process. ;-)
