Vegetarian Carnival #13: something for everyone!

Veg Carnival Logo copyWelcome to the February 18, 2008, edition of the vegetarian carnival. Instead of organizing this one by topic, I’m going to start off with my 5 favorite entries (in no particular order):

  • Lisa presents Paneer Pizza on Naan Bread posted at Lisa’s Vegetarian Kitchen. Looks delicious – now I am definitely craving Indian food, especially paneer!
  • Lane Wright presents Compassion Will Cure More Sins than Condemnation posted at Vegan Bits. Lane talks about being attacked as not being a “real vegan”, and I totally support what he’s saying. Enough with the superior veg*ner-than-thou attitudes already.
  • ohmindy presents Margarita Cupcakes: Cuptails for the Everyman posted at Oh, Mindy!, saying, “Cupcakes for grown-ups, and if you need an excuse, they help prevent scurvy!” Nobody wants scurvy!
  • Foodeater presents Mugicha: How to Make Barley Tea. posted at To Live and Eat in L.A, saying, “A step-by-step article, with photos, of my first ever attempt at making Mugicha, Korean style barley tea (and the yummy breakfast that came out of it by mistake!).” This is one of those things that I’d never think of trying to make myself, but it does sound good!
  • Jade Blackwater presents A Look Ahead at Spring Gardening posted at AppleJade, saying, “I write a blog about natural health and wellness including recent posts about how to create and use cold frames to feed you and your family fresh vegetables year-round.” I am so jealous of people with gardens these days. I wonder what I can grow on my balcony.

I thought it would be easy to choose my favorite 5 entries, but there were so many good ones this month that it was hard! Congrats to the top 5 for beating out some stiff competition. And now for some more fabulous carnival entries:

That concludes this edition. Hungry yet?

    Hi Jul,

Thanks so much for including VeganBits.com in your Top 5! Looks like there was some stiff competition indeed.
FYI, I’m the husband (and male)… Jane is my wife. No biggie.
The Margarita Cupcakes look like fun. I’m going to ask Jane if she can try and veganize these for me!!!

Also, there’s a fabulous vegan recipe for margarita cupcakes in the book Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. I made them once for a party and they were quite the crowd pleaser!
