Welcome to the first edition of the Vegetarian Blog Carnival. The submissions represent a wide variety of topics from a nice variety of blogs. So what are you waiting for? Get reading!
Let’s start with the mouth-watering vegetarian recipes that were submitted. Expat Chef presents not one but three vegetable-based recipes inspired by a trip to the farmers’ market, posted at The Expatriate’s Kitchen. Stephanie shows us how to make Curried Chickpeas over at Stop the Ride!.
Amanda presents Creamy Asparagus Soup, or, A Perfect Sunday posted at Eat… and Be Merry. If you own a pressure cooker, check out Mitchell Surface’s recipe for Quick Hoppin’ John, at Surface Tensions. Christopher Howse invites us to meet The Tofu Monster at SoVeg.
At The Diet Pulpit, Lady Rose offers us a recipe for Homemade Protein Bars. Annette Berlin presents Fruit Parfait posted at Frugal Journey. Summer tells you how to make your own fruit syrup at Wired For Noise.
Just in time for summer, cookingfor5 gives us a quick overview on grilling vegetables at Simply Cooking. Linda Martin discusses her discovery of Dreyers Fruit Bars at Country Kitchen Pantry.
If you happen to find yourself in Thailand in October, be sure to check out the Phuket Vegetarian Festival, described by Jin at Phuket Muay Thai.
Moving from food to health and philosophy… Elaine Vigneault presents a potentially controversial post about animal personalities entitled Eating Babies. Kelby Carr discusses the health and social aspects of raising a vegetarian child.
Astrid Lee presents the benefits of choosing organic in Heal Your World By The Way You Eat. At Tonic Gifts, Michelle Sweeney talks about being Virtually Vegetarian.
At 60 IN 3 Gal Josefsberg presents Healthy Eating Habits, Part 3 - Don’t clean your plate, part of a series of articles about healthy eating habits (which are valid for vegetarians and omnivores alike). And finally, The Junky’s Wife offers us A Goddamned Spoon, a post tangentially related to our topic in that it mentions an important moment for her in her vegetarianism.
