Vegetarians: Fewer Cancer Rates

Research finds that vegetarians were generally less likely to develop certain cancers than their meat eating counterparts. The new research, while encouraging for a veggie-rich diet, does not indicate that such nutrition offers protection from all cancers.

The study looked at 60,000 people and found that the test group had “notably fewer cancers of the blood, bladder and stomach.” However, the group had the same amount of bowel cancer. People that shunned red meat but still eat fish say less of a benefit.
