I read the NY Times article last weekend, and I almost wrote a letter to the editor regarding it (I still might). It’s typical there was no mention of how such a large portion of the grains produced actually go to feed livestock and poultry. Imagine if we didn’t do that! There would be so much more food available!

No kidding! I almost wrote a post about that aspect of the article, but never got around to it. How bizarre that they don’t mention livestock at all.
