  • ‘Vegetarian campaigners’ in the UK are unsatisfied with the new school food reforms, claiming that the guidelines place too much emphasis on red meat, fish, and dairy products. I found it interesting that as much as 6% of school children in the UK are vegetarians. Good for them!
  • Vegetarian-friendly celluloid! Two cities in New Zealand will be hosting a vegetarian film festival this coming Sunday. If you’re in the area, check it out and tell us how it was. Some of the films listed do sound pretty interesting.
  • Who can resist a headline like Vegetarians want Nickleodeon to artichoke Mr. Meaty? Mr. Meaty is apparently a Canadian children’s TV show about puppets who work at a fast food restaurant called… Mr. Meaty. While the show is hoping to fill the entertainment void left when Beavis and Butthead went off the air, ‘vegetarians and concerned parents’ are up in arms about this meat-glorifying comedy after its US debut last month.
