Video: Conquering Your Pain

Back and neck pain are among the most chronic pains experienced in Western society. Many of us are injured in accidents due to lifting or falling, other aches and pains are caused by how we carry ourselves, our posture, and our work habits.

The Canadian Pain Coalition has this video called Conquering Your Pain. The beginning reviews good body posture and techniques for lifting objects in a safe manner, and how to set up a desk work station in a way to minimize pain and injury. The middle section has exercises you can do at your desk to help reduce the chances of developing a repetitive stress injury, and the end has a series of relaxation exercises that are meant to help you manage your pain or stress.

Some of you may know this information already, but sometimes I find that it’s helpful to view this type of thing, rather than just reading about it. Please let us know if you decide to try the exercises and what they did for you.
