Other than complaints of pain, complaints of not being able to sleep are usually foremost in people who have chronic pain. Whether the problem is falling asleep, getting a good quality of sleep, or staying asleep, the lack of rest contributes to the vicious cycle of pain: Pain = no sleep = more pain = more sleep.
In this video, Dr. Ellen Miller, clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Dr. James O’Brien, president of Talk About Sleep, discuss the effects of pain on sleep and how people with pain may get a more restful night.
