Inaugural Bald Man of the Week, Charlie Villanueva, was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks last week. Villanueva, who suffers from alopecia areata and is a spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, will be entering his second season in the NBA. His successful rookie season was marked by an appearance in the All-Star Weekend, Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month honors in December and a spot on the All-NBA Rookie First Team.

Baldiness.com wishes Charlie all the best on his new home court.

Charlie is an excellent player and I’m sure the Bucks will be a good fit for him. He’ll also have fun play alongside star Michael Redd and fellow draft classmate Andrew Bogut, who was the 2005 1st overall pick.

Agreed. Charlie is one of those rare professional athletes who seem to have a good head on their shoulders. I suspect that the adversity he has faced as a result of his alopecia has paid no small role this.
