Vintage Christmas Ornament Guide – Felt Soldiers

My grandmother had a whole set of these musical felt soldiers, but some of them were ruined over time. They’re so perky and cute. I’m thinking late 60s, but I’m not absolutely positive. I found a similar looking set of made in Japan ornaments from that time period, but they’re not identical. They’re pretty big – seven inches tall. The colors haven’t faded at all, which is downright amazing after the storage conditions I found them in!

That just reminded me of a felt ornament that I made in 1981… and yes, the colors do seem to last over the years. I just wish that I hadn’t lost the other three that here homemade. How do you lose a Christmas ornament??

:) maybe it’s time to make a few more. They would make cute little gifts for someone on my Christmas list and cost pennies.

I would love to make some felt ornaments, too. Maybe someday our kids will be oohing and ahhing over them.

As for losing ornaments…do you have a cat or a dog? Mine are cute, but terrible thieves.
