Vintage toy patterns from Simplicity

Do you have fond memories of playing with dress-me dolls or yo-yo toys when you were a child?

Simplicity Patterns are re-releasing some of their most popular vintage kids toy patterns.  So the next generation of kids can have as much fun playing with soft toys as you did!

Check out some of their charming patterns – I love the dog and horse from 2763:

They’ve also released the classic “Learn How To Dress” doll, complete with shoelaces, zippers, buttons and more:

And for the yo-yo fans – there’s the Yo-yo Doll collection (pattern #2708):

Oh that is exciting! I had a few of those yo-yo tyos when I was younger. I just found your blog in my quest to unearth a Slanket tutorial. Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction! I’ll be linking to you and adding you to my Reader so I don’t miss a thing.

When you buy a pattern from simplicity can you sell the things you make? Absolutely love the soft and yo yo toys!

  3. Chloe says:

    Hi Dottie,

Unfortunately, no – you can’t sell toys or anything made from commercial patterns.

There is a copyright notice on pattern envelopes stating “To be used for individual private home use only and not for commercial or manufacturing purposes.”

You certainly don’t want to get in trouble with copyright lawyers for a massive company!
